Email contact@karu.day. It helps to say whether it happened on your Mac or your iPhone, which version of Karu you have if you know it, and what you expected to see. A screenshot is worth a paragraph.
Common questions
Where are my notes?
In a folder you choose, as plain Markdown files. You can open them in any text editor, move them, or back them up like any other files. Karu has no server and no account, so Karu itself never keeps a copy of them.
How do my Mac and iPhone stay in sync?
Through your own iCloud Drive. Choose a folder in iCloud Drive and Apple keeps the files in sync between your devices under your Apple Account. Karu never receives a copy. When a change from another device replaces a page, Karu keeps the earlier version on that device, and you can bring it back from Versions.
What is free, and what is Karu Pro?
Karu is free. Karu Pro adds three optional packs, and each one is a single purchase that stays yours, never a subscription:
- Personality: 16 app icons, 8 accent colors to match the gradients, the Serif and Mono fonts, and 11 notification sounds.
- Meetings: record and transcribe meetings on your Mac.
- Widgets: Today, Tasks, Calendar and Up Next on your iPhone Home Screen and in StandBy.
Unlock everything includes all three. The Agenda, Saved and Shortcuts widgets are free. Purchases work on iPhone and Mac with the same Apple Account and are shared with your family. Prices are shown in the App Store, in your currency.
Can I try Personality first?
Yes, free for 7 days, once per Apple Account. Apple shows its usual purchase sheet at a price of zero, and nothing is charged. After 7 days Personality locks again until you buy it, and what you chose stays saved. The trial is not shared with your family.
How do I restore my purchases on a new device?
Open Karu's Settings, go to Karu Pro and choose Restore Purchases at the top. Packs you bought with the same Apple Account come back on your iPhone and your Mac.
How do I get a refund?
Apple handles every payment, so refunds go through Apple at reportaproblem.apple.com.
Is Karu in my language?
Karu follows your device's language in English, Spanish, Portuguese, French, German, Italian and Japanese. Quick Entry and Siri understand dates in each one, and your notes can be in any language.
What does Karu do with my data?
Karu has no account, no server, no ads and no tracking. Your notes stay in your folder. The details, including the Apple services Karu uses, are in the Privacy Policy, and the rules for Karu Pro are in the Terms of Use.
