Terms of Use

1. The agreement

Your use of Karu on iPhone and Mac is governed by Apple's Licensed Application End User License Agreement, the standard agreement for apps from the App Store. These terms add what that agreement does not cover: how Karu Pro and its trial work, and what happens to your content. If something here conflicts with Apple's agreement, Apple's agreement wins. By using Karu you agree to both.

Karu is made by Javo Esquivel, an independent developer, referred to here as “we”. You can reach us at contact@karu.day.

2. Karu Pro

Karu is free to use. Karu Pro offers optional packs that unlock extra features: Personality, Meetings, Widgets, and Unlock everything, which includes all three. Each pack is a one-time purchase, not a subscription. Nothing renews and nothing is charged later.

Payment and prices

Purchases are made through the App Store with your Apple Account, and Apple processes the payment under its own terms. Prices are shown in the app and on the App Store before you buy, in your local currency, and may change for future purchases. A pack you already own stays yours.

Your devices and your family

A pack bought on iPhone or Mac unlocks on your other devices signed in with the same Apple Account. On a new device, Restore Purchases in Karu's Settings, under Karu Pro, brings them back. The paid packs support Family Sharing, so members of your Family Sharing group can use them too.

Refunds

Because Apple handles every payment, we cannot issue refunds directly. You can request one from Apple at reportaproblem.apple.com.

3. The free trial

The Personality pack can be tried free for 7 days. The trial is an App Store item priced at zero, so Apple shows its usual purchase sheet and nothing is charged. It can be taken once per Apple Account and is not shared with your family. After 7 days Personality locks again until you buy it. What you chose during the trial stays saved, and nothing renews or turns into a paid purchase on its own.

4. Your content

Your notes, tasks, saved items, and files are plain files in a folder you choose, and they belong to you. Karu claims no ownership or license over them, and we never receive a copy. Because they live on your devices and in your own iCloud Drive if you choose it, keeping backups is up to you. You are responsible for what you write and save, and for having the right to save it.

5. Apple Intelligence

Some features use Apple's on-device language model to summarize, suggest names and tags, or answer questions about your notes. Generated text can be incomplete or wrong. Check it before you rely on it, especially for anything important. These features depend on your device supporting Apple Intelligence.

6. No warranty and limits of liability

Karu is provided as is. We work to keep it reliable and your files intact, but we cannot promise it will be free of bugs or always available, and features may change. Test versions, such as TestFlight builds, can be less stable. The warranty disclaimer and the limitation of liability in Apple's license agreement apply to Karu, to the fullest extent the law allows. Nothing here limits rights you have under the consumer laws of your country.

7. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms when Karu or Karu Pro changes. The effective date at the top of this page shows the latest revision, and important changes will be explained here before they take effect when practical. Purchases you already made keep working as they did. The October 12, 2026 version is the first.
